Hello all. I would like to learn from
The hive mind if possible.
Can I ask if all the lansky type sharpening systems which is “best “

I’m being really specific on this clamp and guided abrasive type sharpening because I’ve never used one and don’t want to buy a pudding ...
im fine with lininsher , wate stone , oil stone . So im Looking for recommendations. Things like availability, working life of abrasives , constantly, ease of use etc etc .
I really look forward to your replies.
All the best , Matt.

I have the Lansky and the DMT( diamond stones). I prefer the Lansky clamp and the DMT stones.
The Lansky clamp is metal and marked.
The DMT clamp is plastic and not marked so it is harder to set your angle.
I really like the way the DMT stones cut too.
My sharpening skills are not that great but this setup helps.

I use a Lansky, and Lansky normal stones, which does the job and is quite therapeutic.
I did buy the stand for the clamp, but ideally that needs to be mounted on some board.
