Kydex sheath for Gary Mills Woodlore Clone?

What are your thoughts on kydex for a Gary Mills Woodlore clone? I won one from Gary maybe 13 years ago. The blade has been used but I find myself babying the sheath since I am in Hawaii and it is wet out quite a bit. So the knife is in my pack more than on my person. My buddy suggested a kydex sheath.

Blasphemy? Or genius?

If the leather sheath is well impregnated with leather grease it should be OK, isn't it?

Having a kydex sheath for the conditions you describe, seems a perfectly reasonable solution.

Thanks guys. I like leather. And the sheath from Gary is in good shape. I'd like to meet it that way, so may add a kydex option especially since my buddy offered to make it for me. Maybe knife will get more on body time.
