Here is a useful and cheap tip for easy identication of your £200 + Woodlore type knife when either placed or droped into grass or heather. I'm assuming you have a lanyard fitted:

Take one used day-glo yellow felt tip pen and either cut down the body or tip cover into a 2" length. Thread on to lanyard and secure as you see fit. It really is a knife saver and does nothing to de-value your considerable investment.

Haven't a clue what you're referring to so here is a pic to beter explain my reasoning! The day-glo pen tube has been on this knife for just over twenty years.

Cheers

Jake is a member here and on BB who, as far as I can gather, managed to drop and lose a W/S Woodlore on a BCUK meetup. He gets a lot of stick for it. ;)

(If this is wrong then someone please correct me as I wasn't there at the time and this is just what I understand from reading old threads :) )

Top tip by the way, definately one I'll be using :D

Jake lost a WS woodlore though it wasn't at a meet up.

I did briefly chat to him on msn a couple of months back. I think he's started working and has less time for his hobbies and wouldn't have any if he came on here

Neat idea. I like to use Kelty Triptease Lightline for my lanyards. This rope is reflective and you can find your knife in the dark.

Well, nicking Klenchblaizes idea and adding Hoodoos suggestion of luminous cord, add a talented lanyard maker (ken cardwell) and a fluorescent whistle under the heading of "it might as well be useful"

We arrive at:

You can drop ken an e-mail and he'll make pretty much whatever you like and his prices are reasonable too

- Loads of his stuff on British Blades for thiose who are interested
