I made a knife about a year ago from an old lawnmower blade and was reasonably encouraged by the result to have another go. I got some O1 steel from Cromwell Steel, Some red liners from Mick Wardell, a pair of buffalo horns off eBay and set to with the angle grinder. This is the result:

It's 150mm overall and 28mm at its maximum width.

I also made a wetformed sheath from some thonging and a bit of leather left over from making a quiver for someone at my archery club:

Still to do a "proper" sharpen, but seems OK so far.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments, folks.

Looks really good mate! How did you heat treat the blade?

I have a forge area at work (I am a DT teacher) so when the kiddiwinks went home one night I set to with the torch. One of the guys I work with is an ex-farrier turned teacher and he showed me what to do. Don't know if I've got the technique right yet but I'll keep trying.
