Kindling splitter

I want something to split kindling (Not an axe)

Something like a billhook perhaps.

What are your sugestions?

How about a froe? It's a simple, non-sharp blade fitted with a handle. Using a mallet or handy piece of wood, you hammer the blade into the endgrain of a length of wood, and pull the handle to split it. It's useful not just for splitting kindling, but is great for making shingles, splitting tool handle blanks and so forth. It's more PC (if that sort of thing is important to you), safer when tired and safer for less experienced persons than a chopping blade.

Your cleaver may still be used for meat. But a lot of Butchers shops have 'nicely worn in' wooden handled cleavers hanging around that are a bit past useable for them or not in use because of new regs' (if said Butchers take any notice ).

Might be worth a recce' (don't come to where I work though - Ive already 'acquired' ours !!)
