Not strictly bushy but a great read about surviving the most hostile of outdoor environments is 'South', Shackleton's account of his attempt at crossing Antarctica. Its also free.

I don't have a Kindle, but apparently you can put any PDF file on them. There are quite a lot of bushy PDF about. A friend even scans maps and brochures of places he's heading to and loads them on.
Now downloaded - it looks pretty interesting
sum good free ones - the journals of lewis and clark, fully illustrated camp life in the woods, not free but good insight deep survival: who dies and why. lost in the wild, us army survival handbook.
