Managed a visit to Kilmun Arboretum at Easter, so thought I'd share a few pics we took while there. I'd highly recommend a visit there if you're in the area, some lovely views and trees. It was set up in the 1930's as a resource for seedbanks, they planted plots of trees from around the world. It's part of the FC, and free to wander about. Several different walks are clearly(ish) marked and ranges from easy to fairly hard and steep.

A few odd pertrubances on a Redwood, only tree in the area to have these, no idea what they are though:

Can't remember what these were, but seemed to be dead, however there is new growth appearing at the tops of the trees:

From the way this looks, it appears to have no root system, the tree is seemingly growing straight out of the rock! Of course it's roots no doubt delve deeply into the rocks, but none are visible:
