I was out this morning with the pup for a walk, mainly an explore of the Rob Roy way and to get some exercise. I came home and decided to do a spot of outdoor (garden) cooking using my rice cooker. I put in 100g rice (I was hungry), garlic granules, dried onion, sun dried tomatoes and topped it off with smoked duck from a local smokehouse that sells via Aldi (a bargain indeed).

The pot is marked for rice and the rice and water levels, it takes a while to fill it as the holes in the steaming 'pot' are quite small taking a while to drain through to the main pot. Once at the boil I turned it down and let it simmer on the lowest setting.

And in my bowl. It was quite a bit but tasty the liquor left behind whilst salty is v tasty and I pour most of it over the meal.

Reading some obscure website I think Keith planned to make the pot into a pressure cooker for high altitude cooking but it's not something I need anyway. Do I 'need' it? No but it does provide an interesting option to cook with and my rice dish above is very tasty.
