I've fancied the Heavy Cover Titanium canteen kit but I didn't want to buy it then get hit with tax and charges when it arrived. I couldn't find it online in China so I was happy to compromise. I use an Appkit mug when I'm out so this nicely complements it and it's incredibly light too. I had money gifted for Christmas and after a lot of searching I bought the following items;

440ml Mug and 700ml Bottle £57 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JQ71ZJS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

550ml Bottle £45 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CPUFEDG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

Lid for mug £4.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CXKWQ0M?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

The weights of the individual items are as follows;

Cup lid 13g
Cup 60g
550ml Bottle and plastic lid 110g
700ml Bottle and titanium lid 109g

I had to mix the lids around to give me what I wanted but I intend to run them between my EDC/Work bag and my daysack. In my daypack as a cooking kit I have the 700ml bottle with titanium lid, Alpkit mug, Evernew dx stand and a titanium meths burner from eBay. In my EDC/Work bag I carry the 550ml bottle with plastic lid, cup and it's lid. When I'm away at work I try to get a morning walk in and I don't always get to carry my daypack with me. I bought a neoprene cozy for the 550ml bottle so that it didn't rattle when in the cup whilst in my bag. The cup itself looks incredibly small but it does hold 440ml when filled to the brim. The bottle capacities were all as marked.

It's nice kit not a polished surface, I think it's to do with the manufacturing process, and the lids feel a little rough but I'm sure that'll ease as I use it. The lids are watertight in the tests I've done and there is good seal on each lid. The kit was ordered on 28 Dec and arrived Thu, not bad from China I thought. Having read the thought processes regarding having a cooking pot to sterilise water in my EDC and camp kit this was my choice. Overall the kit satisfies a 'gucci, shiny' kit craving I had.
