Took an afternoon bush walk with the dog this afternoon along the banks of the Kalgan River just out of town. I have been planning to hire a canoe and do a couple of days on this beautiful river for ages and today's walk has renewed the drive to get myself organized and get out there!

The dog had a great time she is great in the bush, doesn't run off chasing things which is a blessing considering all the snakes that are out and about.
Lots of wildlife about, this fellow was hooting at us as we walked past.
Grass tree growing sideways!! never seen anything like it before.
nice little stream so we stopped and had a break listening to the sound of the water, very relaxing.
Marri tree sap, supposed to be good for the trots if you mix it with white ash and make a thick tea out of it. I love these trees I might have to gather some deadwood and have a go at making some knife handles or even turn to the dark side and have a crack at a spoon
some kind of fungus that i am know going to have to go learn about.
