Ivy wood spirit

Had a chunk of ivy kicking about so roughed this fella out tonight

Pictured next to his more svelte hazel brother.

Ivy is full of water and dries unpredictably so he may not make it... But we'll see. Odd wood to carve. Very stringy with the grain. Like carving a carrot across the grain.

See if you split ivy along it's length (right pain to do it though) it makes brilliant hearth boards when it's dry

Thanks guys. Aye it is. I now seem to be channeling Charles Darwin. Not sure I like this one, can't get any character into it and I've overdone the eyes. Oh well, practice makes perfect I guess.
