Is this compass still good?

Doesn't look like it has any bubbles. I would expect that it would be fine. My Silva compass is older than yours and while it hasn't been bumped around as much, it is still fine. My mum's Silva is over 30 years old and still fine.

If it still points north, I would be happy it is fine.

A Silva compass is a high quality instrument and no throw away article.

If it points north, what I expect, it is of course still fine, especially as there is no bubble visible.

Does it point north is the issue, I guess.

I read somewhere there is no declination at the moment in the UK. That so?

Its -10 (west) here

We don't use true magnetic declination in the UK because our maps have 'Grid' North (a third North) so we use the magnetic variation or deviation. Currently the variation is near zero for many parts of the UK.
