Is cicely root edible?

(Myrrhis odorata) Some sources say it is, just dug out a considerable amount of them as it tends to be a nuisance.

Yes it is. It can be eaten raw or cooked. As it's one of the aniseed smelling/tasting umbellifers I am happy to eat it
