I have mentioned Team Hoyte a few times over on SotP but I do not think I have mentioned them here. I was reminded about them when I installed a new video feature on SotP and used the Youtube clip of them.
Team Hoyte are a father and son team. Dick the father and Rick the son. During birth Rick had the umbilical cord wrapped round his neck and as a result is severely disabled. The family were told to just send him of to a home somewhere but they took him home and brought him up in as normal a way as possible.
Eventually a computer set up was constructed to allow Rick to communicate. Later he asked if his Dad would help him do a charity run, 5k. His dad who was by his own admission one burger away from a heart attack, did a little training and pushed Rick in his wheelchair for the full 5k. After Rick said it was the firs time he had not felt handicap.
So now they run. Hell they do more than run. Below is a clip from an Ironman they did.

There are a lot more clips of them on youtube and you can learn more about them here

As the heading indicates I find them an inspiration.
