Companies importing from the States have to pay duty, shipping and tax which is then passed onto the consumer. It is also heavily discounted on the US site from $62.99. As a generall rule and due to the exchange rates at the moment, you can expect to pay the same amount in £ as an item is in $ in the States.

On the other hand I have found bkcg to over priced, and there customer service is non existant.Wifey bought me a gerber applegate/fairburn fast folder as a suprise, to replace one lost, orderd it two months before my birthday, then told me on my birthday as it still hadn't arrived, turned up a week later, she'd had no answer to emails, telephone messeges, even a request to cancel the order. terrible service.

i have all the practical and useful knives i need (couple of moras and sensible things like that) and thought it would fit in well with my zombie slayin' kit. ATM a nieto hinter black rubber grip http://www.greenmanbushcraft.co.uk/cutting-tools/knives/nieto-hunting-knife-rubber-handle.htm which is 6" + a bit and gerber gator sawback machete which is 18". the SOG fits in nicely between the two at 9" and a bit...

i give up, the knife looks good but you only get half of it back when you cut something. im going to get a slab of 01 steel and make a damn zombie slayer!
i can get the same length and thickness for a bit over £10 at cromwells!
