Hi I have been having a go at making a knife kit. The one I have is a Karesuando Kniven.
I have decided to Oil it with Pure Tung Oil which is the only thing I have left to do. The knife is finished up to this point and I thought I would share it with you.

I did a Step by Step guide on my blog.
Here is the link.

Not a bad first attempt and thats a nice piece of wood for one of those kits.
Is the sheath not a bit loose though?

The sheath is OK, the knife doesn't fall out when turned upsidedown. I think its the shape of the handle and the fact I wet formed it around the handle thats stopping it from falling out. Also I didn't use the plastic inner sheath that came with the kit and decided instead to use a piece of scrap leather in the sheath base to stop the blade cutting the thread.
Many thanks for all your encouragement

Really like the look of what you did there. I've got one of those kits and am looking to follow your tutorial, but I have a question. The piece of leather you put in the sheath for protection, does it run the full length and is it just stuck in or sewn in too.
