House Martins in February

This weekend I saw a pair of house martins on the North Downs.
I presume they were caught on the warm currents that have been coming up from Africa the past week or two.
I had to take a double look. It's by far the earliest I've seen them.
Just hope they don't get caught out by a cold snap during March.

Wow, that is early! It has dropped really cold and damp here today after a glorious sunny day yesterday - we had Red Admiral butterflies yesterday, today it's like winter (yes, I know it is winter).

First day of spring today meteorologically speaking. We're just above the gloom here so between the odd fog bank passing through it's a nice sunny day although the breeze is a touch fresh

Came across a good pile of frogspawn in a small pool below a spring at around 2,000 feet in the Brecon Beacons National Park a couple of days ago.
