Took the trip I have been wanting to do for a long time, so was good to see ancient friends again, will be going back a lot more but I have to take account for Sammi not being able to hike all day like I can, we covered about six miles in all and Sammi fell for the place as much as I did many years ago, sorry the photo's are poor but the trip was good, so I recommend you try to get there, holding the memory of a place is so much more than a photo can give, but enjoy anyhow!

Did an overnighter on Kings Tor, quite a lot of horses and cattle and of course the ubiquitous sheep, then today went to have a look at Foggintor Quarry (disused) which is not too far from Kings Tor, a little masterpiece picturesque place, was quite amazed as I was shimmying down to the waters edge the rocks were covered in little frogs which were making there way down to the water from quite a height above the water, not sure of the reason, could have been they were heading for the water because of the hot spell we have had of late.WP_20180712_14_08_27_Pro_LI.jpg WP_20180712_14_08_27_Pro_LI.jpg WP_20180712_14_13_25_Pro_LI.jpg
here are a few pics of the Quarry and whats left of the buildings there.

just to add after taking these pics i headed back to where I had parked the car, it started to rain, and I mean rain, the temp dropped to 14C from 21C in a very short time, roads were flooded etc, quite normal for Dartmoor, but 10 miles away it was still 23c bright sunshine.

Thank you for the pic's great looking place, kings tor is on my list I'll take in the quarry too, got to love moor weather! I was at hay tor this Wednesday, all about looked like rain falling but not a touch about the tors we were scampering over.
