I posted this as a thread on one of Troy's posts, but thought I'd share it here too in case it got missed. I know there are plenty of archers here, but also for those who love horses and riding - this is not to be missed.

There is a big following of horseback archery in Bulgaria and Hungary.

Now, if you enjoyed that, you will love this! It is the riding school in Hungary where people come from all over the world to learn horseback archery.

Here's the riding school website.

Enjoy.

Thats an interesting link,Eric. I saw a documentary on discovery channel about Japanese mounted archery. You need to be skilled in 2 dangerous sports to participate. The rate of fire was pretty impressive!

Fantastic. I've become a fan of a writer called S. M. Stirling, and in ones of his series, Horse Archery, and the learning of it, is quite important. Loved the archers football match, and thought the target tossers had a lot of trust...

When I was a kid, I did EVERYTHING from horseback. Even my homework, sitting backwards and writing on their rumps. First I had a bow, then a Red Ryder BB gun (which I literally wore out) then .22's. It was very, very rarely that I ever hit anything. Thanks for posting this.
