Yes I've got old version and new version. Which would you like?

Showing my ignorance now -what’s the difference?

The old one has a top and bottom plate that look similar and slot in. The newer version does away with the top plate and is replaced by a grill that sits on top.

I think I would probably prefer the older one. Does that come cheaper ??
