Some how or other my Amazon switched to an American account, the amount of homesteading books on it was mind boggling!

Anyone have a homesteading favourite book worth importing?

Wood lands for sale - I am familiar with , Its not the sort of place I would be looking into for anything remotely small holding wise.

Fine however to own woodland for your own pleasure. But can't see mixing the two ideas.

Can I ask if you have previous homesteading/small holding, raising animals or fruit/veg growing experience?

I have a lot of raising birds experience, especially in forests! And yes fruit and veg!

This is probably a horrible sweeping statement but I tend to find cover-it-all self sufficiency type books aimed at people thinking rather than doing. I tend to prefer detailed books on a particular subject.

I am a bit curious though, to see how much would apply to the UK. Does the US have such strict planning controls for example?

I've just browsed the contents of your first linked book on Amazon and a more polite description would be an introduction. There's just a page or two on bee keeping for example whereas I have a couple of detailed books now I keep bees.

So rather than a full encyclopaedia it’s more of a book to make you more aware or self sufficient at home rather than full blown homesteading maybe?
