now i am seeing alot of stuff about american indepence and the constitution now i was woundering

is the constitution the act or bill of inderpence or is it the thing that the hole laws of the country are governed by because i dont understand the difference and google is puttting in political jargen i dont have a cat in hells chance of understanding so can some one please explain because i am quite interested

please not this is not a dig at any american brother or sister i have on here it is purely a question out of interest

The Declaration of Independence was when the founding states declared the 13 American colonies to be independent states and no longer governed by the British Empire

The United States Constitution was the original document which laid out how the United States would be governed.

If you want more info the look both items up on Wikipedia. They're reasonably free from legal jargonese :)
