Just came across this on my Facebook page. As I know Toddy is interested in this subject I thought it would be good to post it up.

As a young lad I used to help my mother and Granny to collect plants for dyeing wool on the Isle of Lewis.

Good to see that the Chelsea Flower Show covers areas like this. May need to go one year.

Right off I see shilasdair (that's probably a lowland Gaelic remainder) or Flag Iris, and the Gale and it looks like bog cotton too. I wonder if it's crotal dyed yarn in the cauldron ?

They've even got the roof to walls bit correct :D Early though.
