Just found my idea of heaven. One of the venues that I go fishing to has given me permission to practise my skills. He has loads of fallen trees as well as dead standing wood which allows me to practise my axe work and fire starting also the lake is actually flowing so a good supply of cleanish water. Walked around the other day and noticed thousands of pine cones so collected a few for my hobo. The bailiff also has a good supply of cut and seasoned logs which I can use for carving practise.

Just a shame SWMBO won't let me move out to live there

I did actually ask her at one point but not going to print her reply. The place in question is in Malton north yorks. I know the lease holder for the lake and the bailiff but it's a place where you need to book in advance. I got permission to be on the site as long as I help tp keep things in order when I'm not angling.

Sounds great! My ethos on asking partners and family or friends permission is "don't ask and they cant say no." (Although i'd always ask permission to use people's land and such, i hope you get my drift.)

Im hoping to get back into fishing this year, had all my tackle (no jokes) stolen about a year and a half ago so been building it up slowly
