heat resistant string

i have a tilly parafin storm lamp can any one recomend a fine string i can use to tie mantles on i have 4 were string has broken string needs to be heat resistant

Wouldn't thin wire work? Like tie-wraps for freezer bags with the plastic removed.

Copper wire from any old electrical cable.... Cut a section about 5 inches and strip down.

The thicker earth stuff if you can get some would be ideal. al.

You could thin down the stuff they use to seal log burner doors.
