I had a heart attack 5years ago due to a torn artery,
I don't get out as much as I would like nor do I walk the distances I used to,
Mainly due to the recovery time I had and the medication I was stuffed on,
Now I am off most of it and almost back to some sort of normal I try and get out once a week for a decent walk with the camera gear and I am now back to work as a carpenter part time for now, hopefully full time from new year.

The million dollar get well soon view from ward window.

incedently, I can't see it as my position at opposite end of ward from window gives only a red brick wall.

Going ...stir crazy!

Yer lucky it’s not Musgrove Park with the view overlooking the huge cemetery :). Took the Park & Ride into Taunton for a last minute pre-Xmas look round today, and the bus loops round between them. Not really the kind of view you need when you’re convalescing!

The Royal Infirmary in Glasgow's like that too. Looks out onto the Necropolis beside the cathedral.
Dad used to say it's where they buried their mistakes :rolleyes2:

Getting there slowly on far too many tablets. Diet I have cut out all treats for the moment then will have some only now and then in a few more weeks
Yes, it will require masses of patience.

But, it was not so long ago that a heart attack, -if your survived it, was the end of your active life.

Why not find something you can do?

It is Musgrove Park! You only get that view from the private single occupancy rooms, which I started off in, now in a bedlam ward. Had someone try steal my phone and rifle through my stuff while I was asleep last night. Security called twice before 1 am. Nutter two beds over yelling all night for e very one to be quiet and making more noise than anyone else. Still at it over breakfast, which I missed as I finaly found a working shower and got clean again.
Still at it when I got back. Missed brekkers, no sleep. I offered to rearrange her body if she didn't shut up . Ooh matron!)
. She's been quiet since. (Nurses whispered thanks as they not allowed to be that rude.) Patience of saints them. Me no saint. Action was needed. I took it. Problem sorted. Wish I'd gone in much earlier.
Angiogram at 2pm then providing im not at deaths door, I'm outta this zoo. Permission or not!
Keep those fingers crossed or im gonna be on local news tonight. At tethers end !
4 days I've been here. It was supposed to be regency admit as I had a chesty cough had a week bit of blood in the expectorant, everyone went into panic ode gone here, then left me hanging ever since,
I think my attitude this owning which booked no nonsense from unruly patients, or wishy washy staff finaly did it.
Perfect blood pressure when admitted, been climbing each reading with all the stuff going on and trying to let staff deal with it, now in red zone. So that was it! Not happy.

Merry Christmas all.

Big hug WG.

All done and waiting for result.
Just read my last post. Absolute gibberish!
I think my stress factors were a bit high to say the least.
Back to normal English now.
May correct it later or leave it for posterity as a witness to my temporary insanity.

Keep up the mantra folks.

Altogether......
Woody's fine and going home tonight.
I'll lay a bet on it.!

It worked! Thanks chaps.
Power of posative thought.
I'm going home!!! I'm going home!!! Perfect score. Nothing wrong as I said in the first place! 4 days of hell for that.
It's over, new day 2morrow, just waiting transport home.
Back to my cosy little hobbit hole.xxx

Glad to hear you’re out and on the mend. I’ve only had to endure A&E at Musgrove, and they’ve been ok (if a little slow of course…) at that. Merry Christmas and all that!

Yeah, me too.

There were some...troublesome...folk in my ward; I am trying to forget about that.

Its not going to be funny if my kidney kicks off over Xmas.

(But that would free me from a lot of obligations...)

Some years back I spent the run up to Christmas in hospital with a suspected heart attack, back in the days when they could still arrange beds for you. I was next to an old man who was clearly dying, he knew it, everybody knew it, he just wanted to be out so he could die at home.

In Portsmouth, they built the hospital, the workhouse, the prison and the cemetery in view of one another. The lunatic asylum was within easy walking distance.
The hospital I was born in used to be the workhouse.
In fact its one of my tenuous claims.
Building I was born in was a workhouse (long before I was born).
Went to school with a Cenobite (girl a couple of years above me played in the original Hellraiser film).
Worked for the company that made a door for The Millennium Falcon (I worked for em before that though and I think it was the drop down door that fell down and broke Harrison Fords leg).

Anyway, enough of that. I know aot.of people who have made a recovery back to active (often to more active as lack of activity was sometimes part of the problem) life after a heart attack.
After an initial period where they slowed down a bit they ramped up the exercise and lived a full and active life.
