An excellent book - and I really liked the original "book at bedtime" adaptation forty odd years ago

I will check that out thanks, I quite like some of these radio plays, especially if I'm doing some real (manual) work. They put a series of all the Le Carre George Smiley tales a while back, those were very good, I keep them on my iPod.
Geoffrey Household was a very good thriller writer and Rogue male is his best.

The amount of cover on the "bare" chalk Downs was amazing and it was fun to work my way along the base of old thick hedges.

For anyone keen to listening to these, there are just eleven hours left to catch episode one.
As British Red has already mentioned, as well as a jolly good story there is some fieldcraft in some of these episodes. Well worth a listen.

I have just listened to the last three episodes on my iPod, looking forward to the final one tomorrow.

Indeed, Rogue Justice, which was also turned into a radio play by the BBC, sadly it is not available at this time.
I read that the author, Geoffrey Household, found himself working for British Intelligence in Romania and Greece during the last war.
No worries - in a minute I'm off for a bath and will be reading "Night of the Triffids" - another great sequel!
