Aldi are doing their travel sweets this week at 99p. the tins are steel and make a great char cloth tin. I use a little wire wool to remove the paint round the rim and then it wont weld together with the lid when heated. My last one is still going strong after a year.

I tend to use wax in a similar way, though i soak corrugated cardboard in the wax and coil it in the tin. Its then a big bright candle or a stove

You might try looking for a Kadi Dabba (ss billy with handle)
