It was an interesting program. I used to stay at Lochailort Castle during MRT training weekends. Wasn't aware of it's background at the time. We used to sleep on the floor in one of the big rooms, full of old books, it also had one of those pictures on the wall that watched you wherever you were in the room. The whole place smelled of cats. Mrs/Lady Cameron-Head used to come and say hello to us whenever we were there. While the whole house was open, we used to restrict ourselves to a couple of rooms so never went exploring, we never even looked at the books - not ours and we hadn't been given permission.
I always wondered why we managed to get a place like that for the weekend, having seen the program last night it makes more sense - we were a small military unit.
The Commando Memorial in Spean Bridge is worth a look, as is the pub that's almost a secondary memorial.
Spent many days running round the hills in that area.
