If anyone's driven past Thirlmere in the last couple of days, could you let me know how heavily it's iced over? I'm hoping to go canoeing there on Tuesday if there's enough liquid on the surface it.

went past on the 24th december it was 60 ice/40 water, although i reckon it might be starting to thaw by now. Derwent water is completely frozen over 4" thick, could walk across the ice to the islands.
