hammock tape

does any one no wherei can get some hammock tape from the stuff that came with my hammock is really heavy and i want something lighter

If you want to save weight, have a look at whoopie sling suspension on hammock forums. There is no lighter way to hang a hammock, they don't stretch at all and it makes suspending/adjusting your hammock a doddle, and they are easy to make too. Climbing tape is used by plenty, but won't save you massive amounts of weight.

not if you get static tape, the dyneema sling stuff i have (same as my SRT kit) is static and rated for 5000kg

dynamic is the stretchy one

I used to recommend Walkhigh as they did a handy 10m bundle for a tenner, they seem to have gone down hill recently though ...

I use the 25mm webbing from www.handystraps.co.uk, it's dirt cheap and seems to do the job well and being 25mm it's nice and light too
