I was lucky enough to get one of the first cegga axes in the recent group buy, unfortunately it’s not for me, it’s a late birthday present for SWMBO. I thought I’d just take a few photo’s before she takes it away from me. I don't have to say anything about the quality of cegga's work as i'm sure that you're all aware already, it's a superbly crafted axe. i'd love to give it a try and see what it's like to use but i can't, but it feels like it'd be a good tool to use. A little bigger and heavier than my gransfors so should be more capable as a tree felling tool, not sure i'd want to do much carving with it though.

A few pics of the cegga alongside my GB SFA for comparison

It came supplied with a mask, which I didn’t expect.

I don’t have any decent scales so I didn’t bother to weigh it, all I can say Is that it’s pretty weighty but superbly balanced, if anything it’s a better balance than my gransfors.

Thanks for looking

Brilliant pic Stu... but I have to agree with Martin, you lost not just browning points the axe scored but any future points you might acrue.

I hope you didn't pose the pic because the way Gemma's holding that helve speaks volumes.....

the surprising thing is, she's seen this thread already and just smiled, give someone a nice new cegga axe and you can get away with murder!

Are these arriving at peoples front doors now? Jonathan had his delivered to the office address and he'll kill me if I don't pick it up before it gets sent back. Royal Mail only hold them for a few days, so I'll need to nip out on my lunch break to check.

sorry emma (yes i know that i wouldn't normally apologise for not responding straight away but the pretty blonde ones scare me, i should know, i live with one), mine arrived this morning, as did lots of others. can you let us know please if jonathan's turns up, one's got slightly sidetracked in postage and we're not sure whose it is yet.

cheers
