Yeah I gave up smoking some time back because of all the family pressure and social frowning. I'm trying to save half the money I get from EMA and spend the other half :D .

So anyway I dropped this Andy bloke a PM on British Blades, so hopefully he should reply and I'l get my bade soon :) .
My plan's to save half the EMA too  Need it to handle a few knives as christmas presents...

Keep us posted on the knife :D

I keep looking at those sheffield butcher knives. I've heard god things and they have a nice price :lmao:
I think they are probably the closest I can realistically afford to a nessmuk and there is a theory that his knife was a modified green river sheep-skinner so I'm along the right lines.
Just have to wait before i get my address sorted over here

Whats a Nessmuk? Isn't that the name of a Scandinavian craftsman?

A Nessmuk is a kinda food prep chopper/skinner I believe...
The only person I know of who had the name Nessmuk wrote a few camping books, I think Nessmuk was just a nickname though.. I think his real name was George Sears. dunno if there's a connection to the knife. Correct me if I'm wrong though, folks ;)

I think I heard somebody calling me. I haven't had any emails from me though
I did have a link in my sig to my dealer threads on BB but this wasn't allowed on BCUK

I'm currently in nottingham but I'm hoping I can get my mother to pick some blades up to keep you lot happy
I have one 5inch blade but it's reserved for someone else, they asked for a 6inch one so if they don't want it I'll let you know

Yep,
Buy from Andy, great chap to deal with. But be warned he has so many nice sharp things in his range you'll soon be ordering more!

They are good. Mine are the 6" Butcher pattern. I've been using one in the kitchen now for some months.
Nice beefy blade that takes a good edge. I bought another shortly after as good carbon steel kitchen knives are hard to find these days. Nice period shape too if you are into re-enactments.
