i have a Greatcoat of unknown origin, its huge, heavy and absolutely snuggly warm and very rainproof! great for the winter months.
i'll have to check where its from tbh, but if you're looking for sommat to keep the chill away grab one of the old pattern greatcoats, almost every european nation had one and they don't half keep the weather out.

That sounds like the old M59 greatcoat. Pile liner, cotton outer. Indestructible but quite bulky and stiff. And heavy in a pack.
