Hi! My youngest daughter Katie (Mongoose13 on here) Moved to Wales at the beginning of the summer, but came to stay with her old Dad, for the weekend and stated she wanted to walk and picnic, so we did!
First off we started in Furzleigh Wood, which is very steep in parts, but none the less beautiful, sadly as you can see in the pics, some idiot decided to attempt a tree house or platform, firstly by screwing chestnut into the trunk, and then foolishly tried to cut a large limb from the crown, to presumably create a level, he was lucky he was not killed! And how he removed his saw goodness only knows, twonks everywhere!
Anyway, next was a trip to Blackingstone Rock, which was very windy, the views from the top are amazing, i tried to take pics which showed Haytor Rocks in the background, to give you a scale of distance.
Anyway, we thought it was too cold for our picnic there, so we headed for lower gound and shelter, part of the Templer Way, lunch was had, and we finished off with a walk beside the River Teign, all in all a very enjoyable day,
Hope you like the pics.
