The Boletes are cropping up here in Germany, just across the road from Bergen Belsen in fact. I will try some later on toast I think. Will post my findings!!
Found my first giant puffball of the season today. I gave most of it to my parents but I kept a couple of slices for myself. Had some for tea, dipped in egg and oatmeal then fried and served with farmers market smoked bacon and fried eggs, loverly .
