Any black bears or good blue bass fishing??:)

We've got lots of smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, and rock bass; but
I have to admit I'm not familiar with Blue Bass.... in general, freshwater
fishing in Ontario is great; visit some of the deep lakes in and around
Algonquin Park for some good trout fishing, and the shallower, warmer waters
have a great abundance of pike, walleye, perch, bass, etc....
My 2 favourites for a freshly caught camp breakfast are bass and
rainbow trout..

As for bears, we have plenty...several hundred in Killarney Park;
several thousand in Algonquin Park...on this trip we saw a sow and 2 cubs
on the portage between Murray and Leech Lakes....they came down off a
ridge and crossed the portage trail about 50 feet ahead of us....we do several
canoe trips a year and we never go a summer without seeing bears!

I stepped out onto the porch one very dark night last year to find a bear
standing there in front of me not 3 feet away....scared the bejeezus out of both of us....:eek:

The first pic brings back such wonderfully happy memories, I spent 2 weeks in Canada fishing blue bass with a frog lure. I ate about 3 each morning cooked with bread pepper and onions stuffed in them, eaten within an hour of being caught, cooked in a fire inside a wheel rim. The 3 animals I think of from that fantastic trip would be the bass, frog and the black bear I saw from the canoe one morning.....

Well, I was going to say that nothing beats fresh fish for breakfast,
but good old blueberry pancakes washed down with camp coffee is at
least a close second....
the last couple of summers have yielded some great blueberry crops;
picked these in about half an hour one morning on a trip south of
Algonquin Park...

For fishing, Killarney Park is nothing special...lots of better spots around...
but for being alone in a whole lot of wilderness, you can't beat it;
we were in the NW part of the park..no roads to that area, so you have to
paddle in to the park...we stayed the first and last nights on crown land outside the park...saw virtually nobody else for the entire week.....

Beautiful photos, I've always wanted to visit Killarney Park, Ontario. Thanks for sharing.
I've been to visit my relations in Toronto a couple of times but never long enough to explore the outdoors properly.
I live in the original Killarney Park,
Happy trails...torc.
