Fungus ID ?

the top one looks like a type of Boletus. the second one not sure, could be a brown roll rim. A useful hint when photographing fungi for ID purposes, always try and get the top, the underside, the stem and where it is growing (i.e. Birch, Oak, Conifer). A useful hint when checking the underside is use the back facing camera on a smart phone so you can see the underside on the screen (like a selfie but more useful, lol!).
Alas no. The top one does look like a brown birch bolete, which is edible but i'd hesitate to give a positive ID without clearer pics.
yup, when trying to ID fungus, the more info you have, the better. the absolute basics are, top, bottom, stem and habitat. you can go further with spore prints and, if you have a handy high power microscope to hand, spore shape.

Cheersv, I do have the Collins gem pocket guide but I'll look out for the other , a long way to go before I eat anything I identify !
Unless the Bolete was growing with Birch then it will be something else. Would need pics of the stem to say whether or not it is a Leccinum species. There are a ridiculous amount of Bolete species
