Fungi forage or ID course

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of an organised course or just a day out finding and identifying fungi in or around North Wales? I've heard of days in Gwydir Forest but can't find any information or contact details.

If there are any resident experts in the area that wouldn't mind me tagging on for a day that would be even better.

Try your local Wildlife Trust, i did a course a little while ago with my local one, well priced and very informative

Be aware that fungi foraging and fungi ID courses may not be the same thing. Most courses are run by wildlife groups, and these aren't always friendly to foragers, who are after all picking the mushrooms the wildlife groups want to protect...or at least that is how some of them see things.

There are different information sets to learn. Foragers need to know about the edible and poisonous varieties. Wildlife groups are interested in all fungi, and may not even tell you whether a particular species is edible or poisonous.
