I'm not sure about the nuts, but you can eat the leaves. Also you can make a nice tea out of lime flowers - it's used in France as a kind of sedative, like camomile tea.

I remember reading somewhere about the immature fruits being ground up with flowers to make a chocolate substitute :eek:

That apart, the fruits aren't usually used since the flowers are gathered before the fruits form. I do know that the frutis are kind of sweetish and rich in mucilage, and I'm told that if you pound them up and mix with warm water they make a soothing skin cleanser.....I haven't tried this one so try carefully please.

I believe that's mentioned in Food for Free, along with the comment that it actually bears no resemblance to chocolate at all :D
