freestanding mosquito tent

Hi all

Anybody have any experience with these? https://www.genuinearmysurplus.co.uk/product/field-cot-mosquito-net/

Seems like a great price. I phoned them and very kind lady told me they are as in the picture completely contained and freestanding. Not just for over a cot. I am hoping to use one on ground under a tarp with thermarest inside it.

What do you think?

British army use them too, ideal in the summer I'd have thought, put a tarp over the top and you stay bug free

i got one from there never used it, its still in its bag in the loft, good idea in midge infested areas

I have been issued several of these and can vouch as to how good they are. Great base which is bath tub design but not waterproof. The mesh is pretty good and has held out midges as well as mosis. The guys normally only keep the poles to use with the issue tarp by pushing one through the webbing tabs along the middle and suspending the tarp from it to create a small tent.

They are a great job. I have got to admit that my favourite part was the fancy set of pegs!!!

I purchased three for me and the boys. Be nice to sleep with sleeping bag open in hot weather without getting eaten.

Are these things midge proof as well as mozzie proof then?

Just took delivery of the mossi tents. The mesh is slightly larger than a midge hood type mesh. Its much the same as an normal inner tent.

I hope its midge proof
