almost ready to shape the scales, just waiting for the epoxy to cure. part forged part stock removal which wasnt easy. steel o1 handle bone paper micarta with canvas micarta liners

It's gonna look great. ;)

What belt grade/grit do you finish the grind on? That edge looks almost hand finished..!

AH! that'll be why it doesn't look all toothy and half arsed like some makers put out. Max respect for hand finishing the edge, so so few people do that! Most just jog it across a 400 grit then buff..

why did you bother forging a flat bar into a flat bar that you then ground a cutting edge onto?

just curious :)

because the flat bar wasnt long enough, by forging the tip out instead of grinding i gained 1.5" giving a 3 3/4" blade. it also looks nicer, to me anyway. just using up scraps of o1 and practicing my forging.
