but what are they from? pics taken at about 600m alt in weardale.

Difficult to see a real good impression. Different light angles and more prints would help. No scale either.
Not dog, Not cat, not fox. Not bird but defo a mammal.
Similar to badger print but also look like pine marten. I would lean on saying it was Badger :)

thanks LR, size wise, the length on the print is between 10 and 15 cm, it's quite barren and high up in the area the pic was taken, what sort of size of territory do badgers roam around?

I think they can have a decent sized territory. Depending on food sources etc.

Pic 2 looks like it has a depression running between the prints. Pic one looks like it could be a jumping gait. Which would point to pine marten.

Cool tracks though!
