I just need a bit more practice really mate. I keep making steps in the flint which buggers it up. lol. And I struggle at getting decent pieces coming off when I pressure flake. I just get tiny bits.
Ultimately I want to make myself a flint knife. But that is a long way off.

yes it sounds like you need to work on the preperation of your edges before striking, because a good prepared edge is the platform for a long sharp flake to be removed which is what you want.
