first sewing machine project-Oilskin Haversack

I have had a hankering for an oilcloth haversack for some time having watched quite a few youTube videos.
so following a wanted Ad and a generous trade from Bilmo i found myself with sufficient material and no idea what to do next.
a few conversations with Mesquite resulted in a how to use a sewing machine lesson/session on saturday past.
then whilst chattin with Lisa (Lady of Tanith) and my mum i was reminded that there was my grandmothers old Singer (185k handcrank) at mums and it was mine. Last night Steve came over and after a bit of a tinker i finished the haversack off.
As you can see it rides nice and high up my body which i prefer keepin it snug and not flapping about.

In the lid of the haversack is another pocket for smaller bits or items i may wish to grab out more often.https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd...._=1435151604_d61bfc9bd5348094eebe9f9f583da63c

As i said this was the first sewing machine project and I'm hooked already plotting my next ones once i get some spare funds.
i even have improvements in mind for my next haversack.
thanks for looking

Ps im havin issues insertin pics using my phone apologies for the links best i can do at moment

That's a great-looking shoulder bag with what, for me, is the most important design feature in one of these........Big wide shoulder strap. Good colour, too :)

That's a right smart looking sack, indeed. Nicely done, and true to the old school, time-tested designs of yore.

All the more prideful with the familial ties running through its entirety.

You can always incorporate your new passion into your upcoming nuptuals. All you have to do is convince the little lady that an oilskin set of tuxedo tails is the only logical and sensible wedding attire in case it rains.

Hey, its worth a shot.
