Was out at the weekend doing a section of the North Downs Way. As I entered an area of Downland near Folkestone I came across 3 blokes, 2 with cameras and one with a clipboard. I said hello and asked if they were a photography group (I had my own camera in my hands). The guy with the clipboard is the warden for the Downs we were in and was out mapping the location of the Orchids.

"Orchids? could you show me please?"

"sure, right in front of you, the purple."

I look down, sure enough there is a plant I've not seen before. A beautiful flower. I took some photos and chatted some before I continued on my way. But thanks to bumping into them, I found my first wild orchid in the UK.
