hi all - only recently started to take an interest in all things wild with a view (sometime off) to spending solo time 'out there'. I'd also very much like to craft my own knife at some time but this will also be a while yet - much to learn first! In the meantime - having tripped over the name a few thousand times - I thought I'd cut my teeth with a mora clipper and, this is where the potential mistake comes in, spotted a 'bargain' online. Described as shop-soiled I now can't help wondering what that means in terms of a knife....I'll let you know!

It probably means a bit of tarnishing on the blade which is no bother as it'll get a nice patina when you use it anyway.

Have fun with your new knife!

The blurb does say:

"Small Visible tarnishing to the blade.

This does not affect the quality of the knife in any way

If you are not completely happy with the item just simply return it for a full refund."

So I guess for £6.50 inc. P&P you can't go wrong! :)

Thanks for all the comments - I did order one, but then based on group confidence added a spare .... as a very late starter that may well see me through! ;)

Hi
I took delivery of two of these last week - cant for the life of me find any water damage OR shop soiling.

I think they probably had a problem somewhere and had to write off stock against an insurance claim - therefore they had to it sell cheaply (insurance companies do check that they are sold cheaper than they should be).

I am very please with what I paid 6.50 for - total bargain!

If the blade is tarnished don't worry. I love the look on peoples faces when they cut an onion or a potato up with a carbon blade...... Priceless
