Hi Guys,

Looking for advice for a full tang knife on a student budget, probably carbon steel but I'm open to suggestions.

Any advice greatly appreciate!

For Full tang only some good budget options would be:
Condor Bushlore - https://www.heinnie.com/condor-bushlore
Terävä Jääkäripuukko - https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/terava-jaakaripuukko-140-carbon-steel/53635
Real seel bushcraft - https://www.heinnie.com/real-steel-bushcraft
Also there are kits or blank blades where you just have to make the scales and make/get a sheath.
The links are just were just quick so you might find them cheaper on other sites

High carbon is good because it can have good edge retention but is easy to sharpen but will rust.
Stainless is good because of stain resistance but some of the high end steel can be harder to sharpen particularly on the fly.
