First Catty

Afternoon All,

I finally got round to starting/finishing some Catapults I've had in the shed for months the finished one is Oak (I think) and the other is Birch.

Stripping the bark.

Cut to size.

Some sanding.

Band notches filed in.

Oiled

And finished.

The Birch one didn't turn out as well so I will probably start over on it.

This was my first attempt at tying bands as well and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I'm pretty happy with how it has turned out and it seems reasonably accurate too.

Thanks rorymax, I used Theraband gold bands as I had some I got in a trade on here. They seem to be a popular choice and are very powerful. I'm no expert and followed the tips from here http://www.melchiormenzel.de/making_rubber_attach.html it shows several different methods and the pros and cons of them.

A mini arrow throwing catty sounds like good fun Corso.
