Are the Strikefire Firesteels available in the USA? Or, is there a site in the UK that ships to the USA for a reasonable fee?
I would like to pick up a LMF Army as well but, normal sources in the USA are sold out of those unless you are will to pay >$50USD!

We ship them worldwide but unfortunately there is no such thing as reasonable shipping costs these days. Postage is what it is and our rates are charged at cost. To be honest with the Strikefires you'd get better value with the shipping ordering more than a single one.
2 Strikefires are the same cost for me as 2 Light My Fire Army firesteels.
Is there anything to recommend one over the other? It looks like the rods come from the same source so, assuming the dimension are the same, they seem to be equivalent to each other.
I'm thinking Strikefire at the moment but, could go either way. There is a German sounding company (überleben ) out of Idaho (USA) on Amazon that I wonder about as well.

Once you try Exotac Firerod you won't go back. The whole concept, fit & finish and ergonomics are great. Very goo quality ferrorod. And after the initial expense the replacement rod are less than a tenner.
5Col.com I believe is a sponsor on the USA Bushcrafter site. I have bought a few things there in the past and have gotten good service.
Those rods look like a great value for someone like myself when looking at the common striker rods sold at various places under different names.
4"x 3/8" for a simple rod that is ~$10USD each for a group of six looks like a good value. A little wood knob and some glue should be easy to procure to finish them off.
If I was in the UK, I would be tempted to get a Strikeforce or two as they seem to be pretty similar and not that much more expensive.
Light My Fire has good branding some affinity for me because they were the first good firesteel I found when I was a young boy and back then the brand was not that well known.
Don't suppose anyone has tried these? Atleast has a nice scraper (carbide sharpener tool).
For the cost, you can get a Strikeforce for less, at least in the UK or, a Light My Fire Army model. I would personally want to see one in person before I committed my money. Amazon has good return policies so, I guess that is an option for some.

Talking about corrosion on these, is it simple rust due to iron content or something else? How "bad" is corrosion for these if not used regularly?
They mostly corrode from salty sweat in your pocket or water ingress during storage. Never had a problem with normal conditions in survival tin or desk drawer.
I've never had a problem with corrosion, but then again, my ferro rod stays in my firestarting kit with tinders so is always perfectly dry. Never really understood the need to have 'immediate' access to the rod to be honest
